Middle School Vlog
Meet teachers here every Monday and your class day for activities.
Welcome! We have a project in ELA coming up. You will be writing about what it was like for your family member(s) who came to America. I will have a video on Monday morning for you talking about the details, but before then please decide whose experience you are going to write about. Call your grandparents, aunts, uncles, cousins...whoever knows about these things in your family. Be ready with the following information by Monday. This is meant to be a fun assignment that allows you to learn more about your family and have a chance to talk to some of these people who may be in lock down and would enjoy a phone call right now. Take a look at the needed information below. Just insert "my people" where it talks about a generic group of people. Other 8th Grade Goals for today:1. Be green in all subjects
2. Have a PE folder created and shared with your lead teacher. This week's PE log due tomorrow. 3. Contact your lead teacher by 10:30 to do a goal setting. The goal setting sheet is in your Google Classroom. 4. Complete your research about the immigration of your family and submit the document by Sunday at 3:00. Here are a few of the beautiful essays students posted about where they are finding joy. Reminder...these are due by Thursday night!
Outlining Argumentative Health Essay and BlogHi 7th Grade! The health essay...which will be used on your blog...should be well under way. Today the outline is due and an edit with Mrs. Syfert is due as well. I have posted a potential outline on Google Classroom. You may use the template there, or you may start your own. Either way, please "turn in" your outline by 11:00 today. As soon as I see you turn it in I will give you a Facetime or Google Duo call. Look forward to seeing you all today! *Other goals for today...be green...ask for help. Sample Outline:Resources:Descriptive Writing PromptAfter watching the video above, think of something you have found joy in doing in the last week during our stay at home. If you can't think of anything...plan something! Go to Google Classroom and write a beautiful descriptive paragraph (or more for those of you who love descriptive writing) about your experience. Challenge...use at least 2 figurative language and 2 complex sentences. I will give you feedback and then I will publish some of your fabulous writing here on our blog.
Make sure it is a minimum of 5 sentences, has a strong topic sentence, conclusion sentence and lot of descriptive language. We all would love to see a picture or video on our Facebook page of you. Share your joy!!! Welcome, after watching the video please participate in the survey and post a comment to let us know you have participated in our video and are aware of the new systems in place. Thanks, Ms. Dabney, Ms. Brennan and Ms. Syfert |
